New bike sharing project in municipality De Ronde Venen: from the bus to the bike

Four users riding bikes at De Ronde Venen

On Wednesday March 12th 2025 the municipality of De Ronde Venen started a new bike sharing project in a festive manner. Alderwoman Anja Vijselaar officially opened the new project, and tested our share bike on site. This initiative would make it easier and faster to travel short distances for residents and visitors.

Spread over six locations (after the renovation of Abcoude Station this will become seven) in De Ronde Venen are 28 share bikes ready for use. These share bikes are easy to unlock using the Deelfiets Nederland app. You can find them at the N201 viaduct in Vinkeveen, the carpool area in Abcoude and the bus station in Mijdrecht Centrum, among other locations.

This project is a two year pilot with the aim of making the "last mile" more efficient and sustainable. The share bikes offer a convenient solution for the journey from public transport to the end destination. With this project we take a nice step in the growing popularity of bike sharing in The Netherlands. We are proud of this cooperation and look forward to contributing to more sustainable and accessible transport in De Ronde Venen.

Rates and use
A bike ride starts from €0.50, after which €0.35 is charged per 15 minutes. A flat rate of €6 applies for a whole day. Share bikes can be returned to any droppoint, without necessarily having to return to the original pickup point.

Caution! The locations could have changed since the publication of this news article. Please view the current locations, availability and rates at Bike Sharing > Locations or in the Deelfiets Nederland app.
